Quebec first in Canada to get Mirai

Quebec will become the Canadian testing ground for Toyota's first hydrogen fuel cell vehicle.

The Mirai has been put onto the road only in very limited numbers in Japan, the U.S. and several other countries.  The concept car will be presented to Quebec consumers later today at the opening of the Montreal International Auto Show.

The Journal de Montreal says the pilot project here will involve fifty of the Mirai sedans put to commercial use in the Quebec City area.  It's not yet clear how they will be refueled, as there is no hydrogen station in that region yet.

Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles emit no carbon dioxide while in operation, and their engines are more efficient that than those powered by internal combustion.
