Quebecers reacquiring their taste for travel

After hunkering down last year, the average Quebecer plans to travel further and for a longer period of time this year.

A survey by CAA-Quebec indicates that 70% of Quebecers will take a break this summer.

Almost half will take two weeks in August while about 25% will be off during the two week construction holiday at the end of July.

More than half of respondents plan to vacation in Quebec.

Gaspésie and Îles-de-la-Madeleine are the most popular places to visit.

11% of Quebecers will vacation somewhere in Canada, another 11% will go to the United States while 22% will visit Europe or the Carribbean

More details about the survey are available at the CAA-Quebec website.
