How can I make a donation to flood victims?
The Canadian Red Cross has set up a dedicated flood relief fund, and the Quebec government started it off with a $500,000 donation.
Since the fund was set up on May 8, the federal government has pledged $1 million to the fund, the city of Montreal has pledged $250,000, and Bell — CJAD 800's parent company — has donated $100,000.
The money will go toward food, clothing home repairs, personal services, and shelter in hotels for those who've been evacuated.
The province has also announced it will cover all administrative fees, which means 100 per cent of the funds donated will go directly toward the relief efforts.
You can make a donation by visiting the Red Cross' dedicated flood relief page, or phone it in at 1-800-418-1111.
You'll also be able to donate money at Metro, Super C, and Rona stores, as well as at National Bank and Caisse Desjardins outlets.
Meanwhile, West Island Community Shares has set up its own Neighbours Relief Fund for flood victims.
