Second major gas price increase this week — to $1.44/litre

By Friday morning's rush hour, the price of a litre of regular gas in Montreal will be at its highest level for almost four years.

On Monday, the habitual weekly gas price spike brought the price to 138.9 cents per litre. After a couple of days of decreases of about a cent or two per litre, the price is set to shoot up to 143.9 cents per litre — a level not seen since the summer of 2014.

It's the second major gas price spike this week — something we don't get to see very often.

Some service stations in town have already made the change, and just about everyone will have by early Friday morning.
