Second murder in less than a week on eastern Montreal street

A 24-year-old man has died after being stabbed inside an apartment in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough Wednesday.

Police were called to a building on Faribault Ave. at the corner of Henri-de-Salières Ave. at about 3:00 P.M. Inside they found the victim with stab wounds to his upper body. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition but later died of his injuries.

A 26-year-old woman was arrested at the scene in connection with the attack.

This is Montreal's third homicide of the year and the second on Faribault Ave. in less than a week.

Last Friday, a 70-year-old woman was stabbed to death inside her apartment within shouting distance of Wednesday's attack. A 74-year-old man with links to the victim was arrested at that scene.
