Simons opening new store in Pointe-Claire

Quebec-based fashion retailer Simons is coming to the West Island.

The company has reached an agreement with the owners of the Fairview Pointe Claire shopping centre to take over most of the space that was left vacant when Sears closed last fall.

In a statement Cadillac Fairview and Ivanhoé Cambridge have announced that Simons will move into about 100,000 square feet  of available retail space on the second and third floors of the western end of the mall in 2021 following a $20 million dollar refurbishment.

The ground floor level will be used to add more restaurant options to the mall.

The store will be the 16th in the Simons' chain.
