Snow, blowing snow, rain and bitter cold coming to Montreal this week

It looks as though the Tuesday morning commute will be a messy one for Montrealers.

And it looks like Wednesday might bring about another wintry mess, too.

A storm system is expected to blow into Montreal at around 10 or 11 p.m. Monday night, and is expected to bring anywhere from 10 to 15 centimetres of snow, before it switches over to rain by the noon hour on Tuesday. The system will also bring winds of up to 90 kilometres an hour to blow all that snow around.

The temperature will also start rising by late Monday, to reach a high of 3 degrees by Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, another storm system will bring more precipitation on Wednesday — possibly another 5 to 7 centimetres of snow — before the temperature plummets again.

By Friday, skies will clear, but the high will only climb to -9 degrees. Friday night's low will be -19, and temperatures will remain in the minus-double digits for the rest of the weekend.
