Special weather statement in effect for Montreal

Freezing precipitation is expected Monday morning.

The extended period of freezing rain is expected on the Island, in Laval, Longueuil, and Châteauguay, Sunday night into Monday morning.

Caution while driving and walking is advised, as roads and sidewalks may be icy and slippery.

Environment Canada expects between five and 15 milimetres of freezing rain. They say the highest amounts are expected in the Outaouais area and the Laurentians.

Saturday will see periods of rain then a mix of sun and cloud. Expect some cloudy patched as well. It's a high of plus nine.

A low of plus two on Saturday night.

Mainly cloudy on Sunday at a high of plus eight.

Freezing rain and rain on Monday. The ice should melt by Monday afternoon, as the temperatures rise to a high of plus 11.

And Tuesday should be cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers. The high is six.
