Trans-Northern closes aviation fuel pipeline to Trudeau Airport
A pipeline that brings jet fuel to Trudeau Airport has been temporarily shutdown.
The Trans-Northern Pipeline runs through Laval, Rivière des Prairies, Saint-Laurent and into Dorval.
Le Devoir reports the line isn't leaking but the company will conduct excavation work in six areas to inspect and verify the integrity of the pipe.
Trans-Northern notified the National Energy Board of the project last week.
As a result of the shutdown tanker-trucks will be used to bring aviation fuel to the airport.
The report says based on flight schedules as many as 260 trucks a day from Ontario and Quebec will be needed to meet the airport's daily needs.
