UPDATE: Man stabbed in depanneur argument

It what was believed to be a foiled robbery attempt, police now say was just a work argument gone wrong.

At about 6:30 P.M. in a depanner on Langelier Blvd. near Maurice-Duplessis Blvd. in Montreal North a 28-year-old man was stabbed in the back multiple times. He was found, on the ground bleeding not far from the store.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries and his condition has been upgraded to stable.

The suspect is the 39-year-old man who was working at the depanneur at the time of the attack. He was arrested and is expected to appear in court Monday afternoon to face several charges.

Investigators originally believed the attack stemmed from a robbery attempt, but after interviewing witnesses and piecing together different elements from the scene, they found the victim was the store's delivery guy and he had been in an argument with the store clerk just prior to the stabbing.
