UPDATE: Pedestrian now in stable condition after being hit by truck in St. Leonard
The condition of a 28-year-old woman has been upgraded after being struck by a truck at Langelier and Jean Talon in St. Leonard at around 6 a.m.
The pedestrian suffered major injuries and police said at the time that they feared for her life but the woman is now in stable condition.
Police say the truck was heading north on Langelier and was turning right on Jean Talon when he hit the woman.
The truck driver did not stop but police say they believe he was not aware he hit the woman.
Police located the 38-year-old driver a short time later.
The truck driver will be questioned by police who are continuing their investigation into the circumstances.
