WATCH: Carey Price tribute, a happy moment during a sad night

It seemed only fitting the Montreal Canadiens would lose their final home game of this disappointing season, despite a late surge to force overtime.

With the win the visiting Winnipeg Jets picked up their 50th win of the season, a first for the franchise.

But that wasn't the only record set at the Bell Centre Tuesday night.

With the start Carey Price passed Jacques Plante for the Canadiens record for games played by a goaltender (557).

During a stoppage in play at at 6:13 of the first period a video tribute with messages from Habs goaltending legends Ken Dryden and Patrick Roy was played.

Habs fans gave their goalie a long ovation.

"It was definitely an emotional moment for myself, I didn't expect it to be" Price said after the game. "That video and that ovation was something that I really needed."

"I'm really thankful and really appreciate that. Through all the hard times that we've gone through this year for the crowd to stand up and appreciate, it really meant a lot to me."

Jacques Plante still holds the record for most wins for the Habs (314). Price (286) sits third behind Patrick Roy (289).
