WATCH: Expanding the National Assembly; a work in progress

Work to expand the National Assembly continues.

The 60.5-million dollar project began in the spring of 2016, but plans were adjusted after the Parliament Hill shooting two years before.

An underground reception pavillion, where visitors were will be screened before accessing the main building, is taking shape.

Michel Bonsaint, Secretary General of the National Assembly, spoke with CTV saying visitors will have much to see as they move along.

"The visitor will have a new experience when he or she will visit the National Assembly of Quebec. And we will have exhibitions, we'll have movies, pieces of art", said Bonsaint.

Work includes a multi-purpose reception room, and 2 more parliamentary committee rooms.
