WATCH: Firefighters pull cat from fire, treat for smoke inhalation

Firefighters in St. Jean sur Richelieu made sure no family members were left behind after a fire broke out inside an apartment complex Monday evening.

The flames broke out on the first floor of the building and were put out a short time later.

During the rapid response the emergency crew rescued a number of pets from the fire, including one cat who was suffering from smoke inhalation.

Firefighters gave the feline oxygen as soon as they got outside. After a quick checkup at the scene the cat was okay.

The cause of the fire is not known.
