WATCH: Flooded out Pierrefonds couple staying in hotel after being told to leave
Good news for a couple forced from their severely-damaged Pierrefonds home because of flooding last spring.
Vasso Petrisi said she was informed Thursday that they had to leave the hotel they've been staying at tomorrow.
She told the Aaron Rand show she spoke with a lawyer, who said stay where you are.
"The lawyer advised me to stay in the hotel and he's going to send a letter to the ministry on Monday to tell them that they are responsible 'til everything is finished up. We need to have a place to stay, here or in an apartment", said Petrisi.
Petrisi, who said they have nowhere else to live, added there's been ongoing wrangling with the government over the future of the home.
On Friday, Public Security Minister Martin Coiteux admitted communication with flood victims has been a problem and announced a revamping of the flood compensation program.
It’s unclear how that revamping will affect Petrisi and her husband.
