WATCH: Jarry Park face lift progressing
Upgrades to Jarry Park are progressing.
The second of three developments for the 90 year old green space is now complete.
It includes revamping the northeast entrance to the park at St. Laurent Boulevard and Jarry Street and refurbishing of the baseball, volleyball and bocce-ball playing surfaces.
Water fountains have also been set up and more than 400 trees and bushes planted.
Mayor Denis Coderre says the work was well worth the 4 million dollar price tag.
"A lot of people are coming here to play, to have fun to have picnics and clearly we needed to refurbish it," he tells CTV Montreal.
The third phase will see the skatepark and basketball courts improved, and the construction of a wading pool.
