WATCH: Montreal Symphonique wows thousands on the mountain
Around 70 thousand Montrealers took in last night's free Montreal Symphonique concert on Mount Royal.
The show featured three full orchestras totalling over 300 musicians and vocalists. Numerous local artists also took part, including Rufus Wainwright, Coeur de Pirate, DJ Champion and Patrick Watson.
The mega-concert was a marquee event of the city's 375th Anniversary celebrations as well as Canada's 150th. A large stage was set up near Parc Avenue and des Pins, though those who were unable to make it to the mountain were able to watch a live-stream in 18 Montreal parks.
Symphonique's theme was based on the "five" seasons, with the fifth being an imaginary one organizers say signifies creativity and looking towards the future.
