WATCH: Old Port plans makeover

The Old Port will be getting a makeover but it might take a while for all the renovations to be done.

Officials unveiled a revitalization project today and one of the goals is to give you better access to the St. Lawrence river.

Old Port vice-president Basil Cavis says getting to and from the site will be part of the plan, too.

"One thing that we're going to favour is public transportation to and from the site. There will obviously still be parking on the site, in the same quantities that we have now, but we're working with the city in order to favour public transportation to the site," he says.

The master plan also includes a mini-village, with homes, a hotel and stores.

It'll take 10 to 15 years to get the whole thing done and will cost 175-million dollars.
