If you’re planning on staying in town for the long weekend, good news, the list of weekend road closures isn’t very long.
The bad news, some of the closures will cause considerable headaches.
In the Turcot Interchange the ramp connecting Highway 20 east to the northbound Decarie Expressway will be closed from Friday at 11:59 P.M. to Monday at 5:00 A.M.
The ramp connecting Route 136 (New Ville Marie) to Highway 15 north (Decarie Expressway) will also be closed during the same time period.
On the West Island Highway 40 westbound will be closed between Exit 60 and 61 from Friday at 11:59 P.M. until Monday at 5:00 A.M. The eastbound service road will be closed between the north and southbound Highway 13 exits during the same stretch of time.
Highway 10 towards downtown Montreal will be off limits between Exits 2 and 3, also from the end of Friday to Monday morning.
The big closure motorists will have to deal with will last much longer than just this weekend.
As of Friday at 10:00 P.M. the provincial owned portion of the southbound side of the Mercier Bridge will be closed until August 20. Because of the two-month work blitz the north and southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane.
The Airlie St. entrance to the Bridge will also be closed with motorists instead being detoured via Lafleur Ave. and Clement St.
If you do happen to leave town and decide to head north, take note, the Mont-Tremblant Ironman will force the closure of the northbound lanes on Route 117 between Mont-Tremblant and Labelle (26 kilometres) between 6:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. on Sunday. Traffic will be diverted to the southbound side of the roadway, where both directions will have one lane available.
