Weekend road closures will make it hard to get downtown
If you're planning to go downtown this weekend from the West Island or parts of the South Shore expect delays, or plan a different route.
As of Friday 11:59 P.M. Highway 20 East will have just one lane available from the St. Pierre Interchange to the Angrignon Blvd. overpass.
Those coming into town from the Mercier Bridge will have trouble because the ramp from the 138 to Highway 20 Easy will be completely closed as of 11:00 P.M. Friday.
Both roadways will open completely at 5:00 A.M. Monday.
Despite the end of the annual fireworks festival, the Jacques Cartier Bridge will see multiple closures this weekend.
Crews will now begin repair work on the structure, repairing concrete and replacing a number of expansion joints and waterproof membranes.
The work will shut down the ramp from Highway 134 East to Highway 20/132, along with the access to Taschereau Blvd. East/Highway 20/Highway 132 from the bridge.
The closures will be in place from 11:00 P.M. Friday to 5:30 A.M. Monday. The ramp to St. Lawrence Blvd. is still closed for another month.
If you find yourself on Highway 15 northbound this weekend, the exit for de la Verendrye (Exit 62) will be off limits between Friday 11:00 P.M. and 5:00 A.M. Monday.
