What to do this weekend, April 6-8: Cohen, Crystals, Confabulation and Cuddy

Have you gone to see A Crack in Everything yet? The sprawling, rich multidisciplinary art show inspired by Leonard Cohen has been extended for just a few more days. Adrienne Clarkson is supposed to turn up, and there is going to be a symposium of Cohen academics to conclude the exhibit. The show was to end this weekend, but now you have until Thursday, April 12. My favourites parts: a room where you sit down and listen to covers of Cohen, by artists like Lil Andy, The National and Basia Bulat. And there is the 

 

Let's get naked and sing our hearts out! Bareoke invites you to pick up a microphone and take off your clothes as you belt out your favourite song. Saturday at 10pm, Café Cléopatre. 

 

Premiere storytelling event Confabulation is back at MainLine Theatre, Saturday night at 8pm. The theme this month is 'Playing Politics: Stories from the personal to the patriotic.' CJAD's own Robyn Flynn will be telling a story!  

 

Are you a fan of Supernatural? The TV show about two paranormal investigator brothers has a strong fan following... and they will follow their passion to the Sheraton downtown this weekend for a convention. 

 

Over at the Hyatt Regency, the Metaphysical and Spiritual Show returns this weekend. This free trade show features info and services about crystals, gemstones, tarot readers and shamans... and more. 

 

Saturday Night Jazz and Drinks: Singer, dancer and La Voix contestant Shy Shy Schullie serenades you at Bootlegger bar on St Laurent Saturday night at 10pm. 

 

Passover comes to an end on Saturday night. Traditionally, the Moroccan community celebrates with food and music Mimouna. Check out some traditional bites with a Mimouna party at Fletchers Café (there will be a 'hop' to someone's home) or check out your local synagogue, like the Shaar Hashomayim

 

The SAT has added extra shows of Les Planètes, an immersive concert with a 'piano-lumière' playing live to music by Debussy and Beethoven. Friday and Saturday night. 

 

Rocker Jim Cuddy and his friends are in town Friday and Saturday night at the Corona Theatre. 

 

The Southern Soul and Rock 'n Roll Revue pays homage to the likes of the Allman Brothers, Sun Records and more with a 3-hour music marathon with performers like Jonas, Shane Murphy and Dawn Tyler Watson and more. Friday night at Club Soda.

 

Cheer on some fine, funny people at Video Island. These folks had just one week to produce short comedic films. They'll compete for the audience appreciation award at the screening at Montreal Improv Sunday night at 8pm.

 

Spectrum Productions provides kids and young people with autism with the opportunity to make movies! They screen some of the dynamic short films at the Spectrum Fest 2018 on Saturday at the JA De Sève Cinema at Concordia.

 

Monster truck, smash! Monster Spectacular XXIV takes over the Big O Saturday at 7pm. 

 

Harlem Globetrotters bring their tricks to the Bell Centre tonight. 

 

Every second Sunday of the month, The Morbid Fascination Show takes over Piranha Bar, with tarot readings, a cavern boutique and freaky burlesque performers like Eldritch Mor, Mystic Minka and Natasha Nebula. Sunday night at 8pm.
