The Angel & The Sparrow, a musical about two excellent singers who weren’t the greatest moms but had a cool friendship, wraps up at the Segal Centre this weekend. Carly Street as Marlene Dietrich and Louise Pitre as Edith Piaf are both so beautifully good here.
Comedian and mom Carole Montgomery takes the mic at Comedy Nest this weekend. You've seen her at Just for Laughs, with Oprah, and on Comedy Central.
Head to the Museum of Jewish Montreal in the Plateau for Mom & Me, a morning of family-themed folktales, a puppet show a reading of Raffi’s Neighbourhood Day. Perfect for tots 3 to 12 - and their favourite adults. You can also add in brunch at Fletchers Café (in the same place) while you’re there.
Montreal Sketchfest wraps up this weekend with more comedy from troupes in Montreal and from all over. Check out the Saturday night lineup at Theatre Ste Catherine, including two troupes from Toronto: The Two Draculas and Definition of Knowledge. And local funny people Dinosaur Party present a party/show at Montreal Improv at 8pm. Full lineup here.
The month-long Festival Accès Asie celebrates Asian culture and heritage. One event this weekend is Strings of Romance, a musical performance with a global sitar star, Shujaat Khan. He started playing the sitar at the age of 3!

Monthly R&B and vintage soul soirée Mess Around celebrates five years of making people dance with 45rpm records. Check it out at Groove Nation (410 Rachel East). Entry is $6.
