Woman hit by car in Rosemont fighting for her life in hospital

A 29 year old woman hit by a car in Rosemont Saturday night is in critical condition.

The incident happened on St-Zotique Street near 16th Avenue at around 8:45.

Audrey-Anne Picard with the Montreal police says the woman may have been trying to flag down a car before she was hit. The victim fell to the ground after she was unsuccessful. She was subsequently hit by another car while still on the ground.

St-Zotique Street has reopened to traffic after police had closed part of it for several hours Saturday night.

Picard says the investigation is ongoing but no criminal charges are expected to be filed.
