Environment Canada says the overnight low in Montreal will be minus 15, but it'll feel like minus 26 with gusty westerly winds.
The weather office adds temperatures for Friday will be steady and the biting windchill will still be a factor.
We're expecting variable conditions on Friday and the windchill will stay around minus 25.
For Friday night , temperatures will plummet to minus 28 with the wind.
There are blowing snow advisories in areas east of Quebec City and extreme cold warnings in place for Matagami in the Nord-de-Quebec region, where it will feel like-38C with the wind.
Temperatures are expected to ease by the beginning of next week.
