Your toilet paper is about to become more expensive
It looks as though paper products, including toilet paper and paper towels, will become more expensive this fall.
The country's largest manufacturer of consumer paper products, Kruger, is set to raise prices on the products it sells, citing an "unprecedented" spike in production costs — including a 23 per cent hike in pulp costs since July 2017, as well as sustained cost increases on input materials and freight.
The price increase is expected to take effect on Oct. 14. Exactly how much of those extra costs will be passed along to you is unclear at this point.
The Ontario-based company markets products under the Cashmere, Purex, SpongeTowels, Scotties and White Swan brand names, among others.
