Teen Spirit…As A Pop Punk Anthem?

…before anyone gets super butthurt about this, let’s be clear on a couple of things. First, this was clearly just done for fun. No one’s saying this is the way Nirvana’s “Teen Spirit” should’ve sounded. No, it doesn’t ruin the legacy of the song, so please keep your undergarments untangled. Second, to quote Kurt Cobain, talking to Rolling Stone about “Teen Spirit” fun 1994:

“I was trying to write the ultimate pop song. I was basically trying to rip off the Pixies. I have to admit it.”

So, with all of that being kept in mind, enjoy a video that went super viral this weekend. Someone took the time to put Nirvana’s biggest song into major key, and it sounds like something Blink 182 or Green Day might’ve conjured up about a decade later:

There’s also a pretty good chance that people are going to want something similar to that really successful thing you just came off of. And here, we find Kurt Sutter, the brain behind Sons of Anarchy. His follow up to that wildly popular show? ‘The Bastard Executioner’, a short lived show that missed the mark. So now, he’s circled back around to his SoA ways, with a spinoff, that’s just been greenlit for 10 episodes on FX: https://goo.gl/Jhkarz
