Game of Thrones Producer Issues Statement about Starbucks Coffee Cup! HaHaHa
After last night's Game of Thrones episode "The Last of the Starks" I was really hoping the Starbucks Coffee Cup wasn't product placement! ...and it seems today that it isn't.
WNYC New York interviewed GoT Producer Bernie Caulfield this morning:
“I can’t believe it. Our onset prop people and decorators are so on it. 1,000 percent. I just honestly can’t… Nowadays you just can’t believe what you see, because people can put things into a photo that really doesn’t exist, but I guess, maybe it was there. I’m not sure. We’re sorry! Westeros was the first place to actually have Starbucks. It’s a known fact.”
I'm quite sure in the future that when the Game of Thrones DVD/Blu-Ray Boxset is scheduled to be released HBO will most likely digitally remove the cup, but the question remains, who's coffee cup was it?
By looking at the picture it's quite clear that the cup is closest to "The Mother of Dragons" Daenerys Targaryen as Starbucks has pointed out:
TBH we're surprised she didn't order a Dragon Drink.— Starbucks Coffee (@Starbucks) May 6, 2019
