LOOK: The Anaheim Ducks Broke Out Their 25th Anniversary Mighty Ducks Jerseys Last Night!
If you're a product of a 1990s Canadian childhood, odds are you've got a bit of an emotional attachment to the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, the franchise forever tied to one of the biggest kids sports movie franchises of all time. Well last night, it was 1994 all over again, for the Ducks' home opener in Anaheim. And damn, those jerseys still look great.
Yeah, this is still the franchise that employs renowned jerks Ryan Kesler, Corey Perry, and Ryan Getzlaf. But I'm willing to look past that, in the name of these tarps.
And yes, there were alumni. No Gordon Bombay, mind you. But beggers can't be choosers.
I really want to believe that a part of Retro Jersey Night was coach Randy Carlyle plagiarizing Emilio Estevez's speech from Mighty Ducks 2. Likely not the case, but a 90's kid can dream, right?
Either way, well done, Ducks. Gonna try and find one of those warmup jerseys for sale online today.
Two great jerseys. One great night!— Anaheim Ducks (@AnaheimDucks) October 8, 2018
