The Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary needs your help!
If you've ever been to the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary just outside of Cochrane, you know how amazing that place is. The work they do for their wolfdogs along with the work they do to educate the public about the animals is really incredible. We're super lucky to have an organization like them in our province!
So here's where they need your help! They're doing an online auction in February to raise money for the sanctuary, and they're looking for donation items! Here's the info from an email they sent me:
"Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary is a non-profit organization who promotes responsible wolfdog ownership by providing educational programs on the importance of preserving wolves in the wild, and overseeing the rescue and safe sanctuary for wolfdogs that have been neglected, abandoned, or otherwise displace. Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary will be running our 2nd annual online auction this February. The auction will open on February 19th and will be open for 2 weeks. We are currently still looking for donations from local business to include in the auction, as well as spread the word to get the public to participate in the auction. This is a great opportunity for businesses to get exposure and help a good cause! Last year we met our goal of raising $10,000, which went towards building a new enclosure to allow us to extend our rescue efforts. One enclosure can cost up to $50,000, so we are hoping to exceed last years goal.
This past October/November of 2017 we had 5 rescues come in that will remain as permanent residents. With the new rescues we are now at full capacity, which limits our ability to help other wolfdogs in need. The funds raised from the auction will assist us to build a new enclosure to allow us the ability to take in more wolfdogs."
If you can help, PLEASE consider doing so!!!!
