Watch Ronda Rousey impress and The Undertaker surprise at WrestleMania 34
WrestleMania 34 packed 78,133 people into the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans last night which produced a new record for highest gross of 14.1 million at the venue. The WWE event was one of the better Wrestlemania's since WM 34 where Brock Lesnar ended Taker's mania winning streak (more on the subject of Taker straight ahead)
I like many of you were very skeptical with how Ronda Rousey was going to perform at the WWE's biggest event of the year. After all, WrestleMania is the pinnacle for all of the WWE talent, and having the opportunity to perform on the card can be extremely rare for most. It's a big deal to say the least.
The month leading up to Mania had Rousey making appearances on Monday Night RAW. She had yet to develop her character and mic skills were shaky at best. From those spots on RAW critics were saying she didn't have what it takes and that she wouldn't last long in the WWE.
Being a WWE Superstar doesn't happen over night. It takes years of training and dedication to say the least. Knowing your way around the squared circle, taking care of yourself and your opponent but most importantly making the WWE Universe believe in your perfomance, heel or babyface.
Ok, enough with the setup. Ronda Rousey brought it big time last night at WrestleMania 34. She was impressive, and it's crazy to think how good she was debuting at the biggest event of the year. It's pressure for any WWE Superstar. The critics were wrong, she looked comfortable and executed great in and around the squared circle. Her spot wasn't a 3min celebrity match, it was a full on 15min extravaganza, and she delivered.
It's scary to think that she will continue to get better and improve.
Checkout Rowdy's first tag in:
We all knew that The Undertaker would appear lastnight BUT we weren't 100% sure of it, if that makes sense.
The Dead Man made short work of John Cena and seemed healthier and more mobile from past injuries and apperances.
The match was short and to the point but it's the entrance that the mania moment was all about, and nobody makes an entrance at WrestleMania like The Undertaker:
