WATCH: Steelers Player Left Paralyzed After Monday Night Football Hit
Man, really hoping we get some good news on Ryan Shazier this morning. "Spinal contusion" was the technical term doctors used, after THIS play in last night's Monday Night Football game in Cincinatti:
The initial update from the Steelers was pretty vague, and the panic really started to set in when the Steelers GM made his way down to the field:
UPDATE: #50 Ryan Shazier has been taken to the hospital for further evaluation on his back.— Pittsburgh Steelers (@steelers) December 5, 2017
He will not return to tonight’s game & there will be no further updates at this time.
Clearly, both sides of the ball were thinking of Shazier after the game. Good on Andy Dalton for this.
Not a Bengals fan, but respect to Andy Dalton for staying on the field after he lost to pray for Steelers player Ryan Shazier with the other Steelers players. This guy loses and actually stays on the field to pray for an injured player. Wow. pic.twitter.com/u4xwBSHcUA— Jeff Kelly (@jeffkelzokelly) December 5, 2017
UPDATE: sounds like Shazier is improving, which is great news: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/05/sports/ryan-shazier-steelers-injury.html
