CONTEST

OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

(the “Rules”)

1.The Country 105.1/Energy 99.7’s Beat the Bank (the “Contest”) starts at 7:15 a.m. ET on September 5, 2017 and closes on October 13, 2017, at approximately 4:30 p.m. ET (the “Contest Period”). Limit of one (1) Prize per household. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. The Contest is sponsored by CKQM FM (Country 105.1) and CKPT FM (Energy 99.7), divisions of Bell Media Inc., (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Contest Sponsor”).

2.To enter and to be eligible to win, entrant must be a legal resident of Ontario and be eighteen (18) years of age or older, and hold a valid Ontario driver’s license and qualify for automotive insurance coverage. Employees (and their parents, siblings and children, and persons domiciled with any such employee) of the Contest Sponsor, its agents, parent, affiliated or related companies, subsidiaries, divisions, Shorelines Slots at Kawartha Downs and Peterborough Mitsubishi (the “Prize Providers”), their respective promotional and advertising agencies and administrators, and/or any other entity involved in the development, production, administration, judging or fulfilment of the Contest (collectively, the “Contest Parties”) are ineligible to enter. Winners of a prize from a Bell Media Inc. contest within the three (3) months preceding the start of this Contest (including persons designated by such winners to take ownership of any such prizes) are not eligible to enter.

3.To enter the Contest during the Contest Period an announcement will be made each weekday of the Contest Period telling listeners to call in for a chance to play (each an “Announcement”). Announcements will be made Monday through Friday of the Contest Period, excluding statutory holidays, as follows: for Country 105, at approximately 7:15 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.; for Energy 99.7 at 7:40 a.m., 1:10 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. (all times are Eastern Time). Additional random Announcements may also occur anytime during the Contest Period. When you hear an Announcement, call the Country 105.1 contest line at 705-876-1051, or #1051 on Bell Mobility or the Energy 99.7 contest line at 705-743-99-70, or #9970 on Bell Mobility (each a “Contest Line”). In the event a caller is outside of the local calling area, standard long distance rates as charged by the caller’s long distance service provider will apply. The twelfth (12th) caller on Country 105.1 and/or the ninth (9th) caller on Energy 99.7 through on the Contest Line following an Announcement (the “Qualifier”), as determined in the sole and absolute discretion of the Contest Sponsor, will be eligible to play Beat the Bank (the “Game”) for a chance to win a Cash Prize. The Qualifier will be announced on-air and will be required to play the Game on-air. The object of the Game is to beat the sound of the vault alarm in order to be eligible to win a Cash Prize. The Qualifier will hear one or more vault doors opening with a voice announcing an amount of money (minimum of $0.12, to a maximum amount of $10,000). With each opening of a vault, the Qualifier has the option to stop and be eligible to win the amount of cash just announced or they may continue to the next vault opening and hear the cash amount announcement increase or hear the vault alarm. At any time, the vault alarm may be triggered and if that occurs, the Qualifier does not win any cash. Between each vault opening, the Qualifier will be asked if he/she wishes to proceed or wishes to stop and win the amount of cash just announced. If the Qualifier wishes to proceed and the sound of the vault alarm is heard, he/she does not win any cash. Should the Qualifier say “stop” during the sound of the vault alarm, he/she will not be eligible to win any cash. All the Qualifiers will be invited to attend the Party (described below) and will be eligible for entry into the Grand Prize Draw (described below).  Limit of one (1) entry per Qualifier.

4.If there is not a clear telephone connection between the Contest Sponsor on-air announcer and a Qualifier, such that one or each other cannot hear the other, such Qualifier may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Contest Sponsor, be disqualified, and if disqualified will forfeit his/her Prize and the Released Parties (defined below) will not be liable in any way. Prior to completing the call, the Qualifier will be required to provide a representative of the Contest Sponsor with all required contact information (including, but not necessarily limited to) his/her name, address and telephone number). The odds of becoming a Qualifier depend on the total number and timing of individuals calling the Contest Line following the applicable Announcement. You can only become a Qualifier once during the Contest.  However, if you do not “Beat The Bank”, you are eligible to attempt to play again until successfully winning a cash prize.  If a cash prize is won, you will no longer be eligible to play.

5.PRIZES:

The odds of a Qualifier winning the Grand Prize will depend on the number of Qualifiers in attendance at the Party. A Grand Prize Winner must be present when his/her name is drawn (substitutions or stand-ins are not permitted for any reason whatsoever). If the Grand Prize Winner does not present him/herself within two (2) minutes of being announced as the potential winner, he/she will be disqualified and an alternate potential winner may be drawn at the Contest Sponsor’s sole discretion. Proof of identification must be provided upon request.

9.Before being declared a Prize winner, each potential Prize winner will be required to correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without mechanical or other aid administered by a representative of the Contest Sponsor and sign and return within the time specified by the Contest Sponsor a declaration and release form, which (among other things): (i) confirms compliance with these Rules; (ii) acknowledges acceptance of the Prize (as awarded); (iii) releases the Contest Parties and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, licensees and assigns (collectively the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability in connection with this Contest, his/her participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of the Prize or any portion thereof; and (iv) agrees to the publication, reproduction and/or other use of his/her name, address, voice, statements about the Contest and/or photograph or other likeness without further notice or compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by or on behalf of the Contest Sponsor in any manner whatsoever, including print, broadcast or the internet. If a selected eligible winner: (a) fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question; (b) fails to return the properly executed Contest documents within the specified time; (c) cannot accept (or is unwilling to accept) the Prize (as awarded) for any reason; and/or (d) is determined to be in violation of these Rules (all as determined by the Contest Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion); then he/she may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Contest Sponsor, be disqualified and, if disqualified, will forfeit all rights to the Prize and the Contest Sponsor shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard.
