The Windsor Port Authority is vowing to enhance its role in the community.

A new logo was unveiled Wednesday at Sterling Fuels with the slogan ‘Port Windsor Prosperity Flows.’

Officials hope the new makeover will lead to a new energy and direction to create an integrated international transportation hub.

President and CEO Steve Salmons says this region is uniquely positioned to take advantage of the busiest trade corridor in all of Canada.

"Does the Gordie Howe bridge make it easier to simply drive through Windsor or does it make it easier for us to connect with the Ambassador Bridge and the rail network and the other road network and the marine network into one transportation power house,” says Salmons.

Port Windsor is actually the third largest port in Ontario, and employs close to 1,000 people.

It receives more than 600 ships a year, delivering roughly five-million tonnes of aggregate, salt, steel and grain across the Great Lakes region and into Europe.
