Lady Gaga has responded to speculation that she and Bradley Cooper are as in love with each other as their characters are in A Star Is Born.
“I guess we did a good job,” she said during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “Fooled ‘ya!”
The chemistry between Gaga and Cooper was evident on Sunday night’s Oscars show, where they performed the Best Original Song winner, “Shallow.” Their on-screen heat sparked rumours of an off-screen romance.

“First of all, social media, quite frankly, is the toilet of the internet,” Gaga said. “What it has done to pop culture is abysmal. And yes, people saw love, and guess what, that’s what we wanted you to see.
“This is a love song, ‘Shallow.’ The movie, A Star Is Born, it’s a love story.”

Gaga pointed out that she spent three years with her arms “wrapped around” Tony Bennett, who’s now 92, promoting 2014's Cheek to Cheek album.
“When you’re singing love songs,” she said, “that’s what you want people to feel.”
