Rihanna has confirmed she is working on a reggae album – but don’t expect a collaboration with Drake.
“Not anytime soon. I don’t see it happening,” the pop star told The New York Times Style Magazine. “Not on this album, that’s for sure.”
Rihanna also addressed rumours that she’s working with Lady Gaga (“maybe because she followed me on Instagram”).
“It’s not in the books right now, but I’m not against it,” she said.
Rihanna told the magazine she doesn’t know when the new album will come out, but joked it could be titled R9.
“I’m about to call it that probably, ’cause they have haunted me with this ‘R9, R9, when is R9 coming out?’” she said. “How will I accept another name after that’s been burned into my skull?”
Rihanna, who hasn’t released an album since 2016’s Anti, has been focused on her various fashion ventures.
Asked about her favourite album, Rihanna replied: “I don’t know what my favourite album is — I’m sure if I put all my favourite songs together, it would be a really sick album.
“Maybe I should do that one day.”
