Officials say the they want to heighten awareness of the historical significance of the UN sanctioned twinning relationship between Port of Spain and St. Catharines, and show its relevance as a social event and cultural celebration.

It has been 51 years since the city and the Port officially twinned.

Residents in the Port of Spain were actually listening to 610 CKTB and noticed both communities shared similarities.

That sparked the idea that led to the two municipalities twinning.
