River Kings Headed To CIHL Finals

The Terrace River Kings will take on the Williams Lake Stampeders in the CIHL Finals.

The Kings swept the Quesnel Kangaroos with a 4-2 win in Quesnel last weekend, and a 6-2 win at home on Saturday.

Win two big wins heading into the final, head coach Derek Jurista is happy his team has momentum heading into a series with Williams Lake who also swept their first round opponent.

"A big thing I find in this league or any kind of league is momentum,  it's huge and if we can carry it into the next series then we should do okay."

Terrace forward Steve Cullis says the team stayed strong after a strong second period pushback from the Kangaroos.

"They had a bit of a pushback in the second, and if we don't get saves there it is a totally different game then ending 6-2."

The Stampeders swept the Prince Rupert Rampage with a 7-3 win on the road on Saturday.

Game one of the finals will be next Saturday in Williams Lake.
