Central Kootenay Food Policy Council work getting under way
The Interim Central Kootenay Food Policy Council Coordinator has had a chance to meet with Castlegar Council.
Abra Brynne says it's important to establish relationships.
The purpose of the new council is to be the formal bridge between local governments, and the many society's and organizations working on food systems in the region.
Among the anticipated tasks of the new Council are spearheading the implementation of
outstanding recommendations from various regional reports, and supporting local initiatives like Fields Forward in the Creston Valley.
The council had their first teleconference in January, and their first in person meeting earlier this month.
