Emergency Operations Centre activated by RDCK

Small flood and slide events around the region have prompted the Regional District of Central Kootenay to activate it's Emergency Operation Centre.

Residents are asked to stay alert for signs of flooding or slides. They are also encouraged to read the debris flow brochure  on the RDCK website.

EOC Director and General Manager of Fire and Emergency Services Andrew Bellerby says public safety is their number one priority, and the RDCK is ready to help residents in case of an emergency.

To report any debris indicators or hazards call the 24-hour provincial Emergency Coordination Centre toll-free number --1-800-663-3456.
