Funding in place for Nakusp and Area Bike Society Abriel Trail project
The Nakusp and Area Bike Society now has funding in place for the 1st phase of their Abriel Trail Network.
They've received 122 thousand dollars from the CBT Recreation Infrastructure Grants, along with a grant they received in the Fall as part of the BC Rural Dividend Grant.
Altogether they have over 2-hundred thousand dollars to put towards the project
Spokesperson Leigha Anderson says the goal is to develop a network of destination trails for mountain bikers, and other recreational non-motorized trail users of all ages, styles, levels and abilities, including adaptive.
She says it will allow them to not only create areas for locals to recreate, but also attract tourism and boost the areas economy.
