Health officials prepared for two big festivals in the West Kootenay Boundary
With two big festivals happening around the region this weekend, health officials are getting prepared.
Shambhala is happening in Salmo, and Cannafest is on in Grand Forks.
IH Health Services Administrator for Kootenay Boundary Acute Jane Cusden says they meet with the Medical Director for Shambhala prior to the festival, and she says they do have some good medical services available for people on site.
Cusden says they only see serious emergency cases, while most of the health issues are dealt with on site at Shambhala.
She says they do add some extra staff in the Emergency Department and ICU so they're well prepared.
