More landslides around the region

It was a busy day around the region when it comes to landslides.

One home has been evacuated near Ainsworth due to a landslide below Loon Lake Road, south of the community.

The road has been heavily damaged due to heavy water flow,

Traffic on Highway 31 doesn't appear to be impacted, but flaggers are onsite as a precaution

Meanwhile A slide south of New Denver has cut off access to 5 or 6 homes.

The slide is immediately south of the Village,  with the slide crossing a private slid within 25 feet of  Highway 6, but hasn't reached the corridor.

A geotechnical expert will be determining the slopes stability.

Current estimates are that up to 200 tandem truckloads of material will need to be removed from the site in order to restore access to the homes.

Fortunately no injuries or reports of structures being damaged in either incident.
