New Law Program at Selkirk in the Fall

Selkirk College is launching a new Law and Justice Studies Program.

Starting in the fall, they'll offer a two year diploma program.

Selkirk College School Chair of University Arts and Sciences Tracey Punchard says it will include courses they already offer, along with some new ones, and tailored law courses taught by legal professionals.

She says with an aging population of lawyers, we'll be facing a shortage  across the country, particularly in rural areas, and research shows that students who train in rural areas, are more likely to return to rural areas to practice.
