New policy in Rossland when it comes to financial assistance for recreation
Rossland council is working on a new policy when it comes to Financial Assistance for the use of Facilities, Pools and Parks.
Mayor Kathy Moore says now they're just going to be support youth on teams to offset Trail Resident Program costs, and they're going to provide 10-thousand dollars for the year.
Mayor Kathy Moore says they were providing 25-thousand for teams and 25 thousand for individuals in programs outside of the city.
She says they didn't get a lot of support about continuing to put that money aside when they did community outreach, and they needed to cut 250-thousand dollars out of their budget this year.
The new policy will be coming back to council for approval on how they're going to make allocations.
There will also be 2 intakes a year when applications can be made.
