One day lockout at unionized Kootenay Savings locations
Kootenay Savings has announced they're going to be locking out employees at unionized locations for one day, this Friday, October 28th.
That means that branches in Trail, Castlegar, Fruitvale, Salmo, South Slocan, Kaslo and Kimberly will be closed on Friday.
Services at branches in Nakusp, and New Denver are unaffected and will remain open.
Employees are being told they should return to their next scheduled shift on October 29th or 31st.
Kootenay Savings and USW Locals 9705 and 1-405 have been in negotiations for close to a year, but have been unable to reach an agreement.
Both parties are in a legal strike or lockout position.
