Salmo Trail Expansion Project will get under way in May
The Village of Salmo is getting ready for a trail expansion project with their partners, the Salmo Valley Trail Society.
The Trail expansion project includes the construction of up to 13 km's of trails for hiking and biking enthusiasts.
They've received 56-thousand dollars from the BC Rural Dividend Program for the project
Mayor White says the trails will help attract and retain new residents, and create a tourism attraction to support local businesses.
A trails plan was put together by the Salmo Valley Trail Society in 2016 based on community feedback.
The $96,000 project, also funded by the CBT and the Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust, involves the hiring of a paid trail crew.
Construction is expected to start in May and continue until the Fall.
