Tax increase likely for Rossland residents

Rossland's 5 year financial plan came to the table this week, they've now done first reading.

Mayor Kathy Moore says there will likely be a 4.75 percent tax increase, because of increasing cost pressures.

Council was able to cut about 250-thousand dollars out of the budget because of cost savings across departments.

The tax increase on the average home in Rossland assessed at 264-thousand dollars, would l be around 190-dollars annually.

Meanwhile one of the big ticket items in this years budget is the Spokane Street Infrastructure project.
