A possible scam in the Trail area, and charges after a traffic stop

Trail RCMP are reporting what appears to be a scam in the area.

They received a report that two Indo Canadian men with high visibility vests and ID tags were walking around the 100 block of Regan Road, claiming to be employees from FortisBC, and asking for personal billing information at homes.

FortisBC has confirmed that they don't send their employees to canvass in neighbourhoods to collect payments or billing info...police are asking residents to report any future incidents to RCMP.

Meanwhile Trail RCMP stopped a Jeep last week with stolen BC License plates.

The 37 year old man was allegedly prohibited from driving, and also had outstanding warrants for a Lower Mainland incident.

A search of the driver also led to substances believed to be Fentanyl and Methamphetamine.

The man is facing several charges.
