Big drug bust near Salmo after traffic stop
A big drug bust near Salmo Tuesday.
The West Kootenay Integrated Road Safety Unit and West Kootenay Traffic Services were doing a road check and stopped a Honda Accord driven by a 27 year old man from Red Deer, Alberta.
An investigation into impaired driving by drug led to him losing his license for 24 hours.
The investigation also yielded a large drug seizure including over 3800 hits of LSD, 180 hits of MDMA, 10 grams of magic mushrooms, 16 pounds of marihuana, and 27 grams of Ketamine.
The man also had four capsules of a drug believed to be 2C-B which is another psychedelic drug not commonly found in the Kootenays.
Sergeant Chad Badry says it's quite disturbing that these types of drugs in this quantity were travelling in our communities.
The man now has a Nelson court date.
