Boost for Environmental Education in the Columbia Basin

Environmental Education got a boost recently in the Columbia Basin.

The CBT has announced they'll continue to support 3 programs in the basin, with close to 1.3 million dollars over the next 3 years.

Senior Manager Delivery of Benefits Tim Hicks says they're all long standing initiatives that have been going for several years.

Hicks says they've had great feedback about the programs from teachers and students, and environmental education is one of the priorities in their Environmental Strategic Plan.

Funding is going towards the Know Your Watershed Program, and the Education in the Wild Programs, delivered by Wildsight.

It will also go to the Columbia Basin Environmental Education Network or CBEEN, which  which encourages environmental stewardship and sustainability in the Basin by supporting environmental educators.
